COVID Safe

Your Patient's Safe Care Is Our Priority

Hospital Safety
Hospital Safety It is our mission to deliver high quality and compassionate care – this does not change with COVID-19.
During this time, many patients have postponed medical attention or are in need of treatment for new or increased symptoms. Further delay of care could result in additional complications, increased risk of mortality, potential loss of function, and decreased likelihood of complete recovery.
We are committed to the universal safety for your loved ones. Every precaution is being taken. Our protocols combine infection prevention processes, training, testing and personal protective equipment.
The following resources are in place:
  • Screening for all patients, visitors and staff prior to entry
  • Social distancing practices including limiting visitors and  vendors
  • Separate care pathways for potential or confirmed COVID-19 patients
  • Universal masking for all caregivers, staff and patients
  • Rapid turnaround COVID-19 testing capabilities
  • Ample inventory and pipeline of personal
  • protective equipment
  • Telemedicine capabilities for virtual screening and  specialist                         consultations
  • Heightened infection prevention policies across all sites of care.
We continuously monitor our operations as well as the CDC, CMS, state and county COVID-19 guidelines. We frequent adjust our protective measure to ensure the safety of our patients, physicians and staff.

Preparing Patients for a Procedure
Our patients receive a confidential phone call from one of our nurses at least two to three days before the procedure. Our staff will conduct a verbal screening for respiratory illness / COVID-19 symptoms and recent exposure. They will also share necessary instructions with the patients to prepare them for the procedure.
Safety on Day of Procedure
What does “separating” COVID and non-COVID patients mean?
Potential COVID patients have a separate path of travel through the hospital, and are isolated in areas designated for COVID care. Their pathway through the hospital is highly monitored and limited. All other patients will not have to wait, receive or recover from care with a known or potential COVID patient next to them. In addition, all patients and staff wear masks, spaces are frequently cleaned, visitors are limited, and we practice social distancing.
How does the hospital ensure potential COVID-19 patients are being identified?
Rigorous screening and patient COVID-19 risk stratification protocols are in place. All patients that have scheduled care are prescreened multiple days in advance. Those that may have symptoms or are at high-risk will be asked to receive a test and may have their care postponed. All patients arriving at the hospital for emergent care are screened prior to entry. If at any point a patient is suspected of being a potential COVID-19 patient, they are isolated and receive a test.
How is the hospital keeping staff safe so they do not our patients?
Our hospital staff are well trained and experienced in managing infectious diseases. The hospital has provided universal masking, increased cleaning, increased supply of protective personal equipment (e.g., N-95 masks, eye protection and gowns). Staff who tend to both COVID and non-COVID patients has been minimized. Additionally, hospital staff self-monitor their temperature daily.
How do we limit the time a patient spends in the hospital?I limit my time in the hospital?
Patients are encouraged to follow instructions for preparing for their scheduled care and arrive at the time requested. If they arrive early, they may be asked to wait outside in their vehicle. Hospital staff will make every effort to be efficient before, during and after their care. This may include arranging prescreening by phone and post-care virtual visits. These measures may reduce their time in the hospital.
