Physician Queries Made Simple

What is Artifact?
Artifact is a mobile physician query application that makes it easier and faster for you to respond to CDI and coding questions about your clinical documentation.

Do I need to use it?
Yes, CDI and coding queries will now be sent to you through Artifact.

How will I access Artifact?
Download the mobile app for iPhone or Android at getartifact.com or visit the App Store or Google Play and search for “Artifact Health.” Sign-in with your hospital network login.

What if I prefer not to use the Artifact mobile app?
You may access Artifact from the web at app.artifacthealth.com. Bookmark this URL on your computer. Sign-in with your hospital network login.

How will I be notified of new queries?
When a query is sent to you, Artifact notifies you in the following ways:
A once-daily email notification if you have open queries in your Artifact Inbox
A red badge on your app icon indicates the number of new, unread queries in your Artifact Inbox
• Under Settings in the Artifact menu, configure real-time email notifications, text SMS or push notifications to your phone
• Artifact can be integrated to notify you within the EMR

Do I need to respond to queries when I’m not in the
hospital?
Because the query process helps ensure the accuracy, integrity and quality of your documentation in the patient record, it is the expectation that you will respond promptly. In circumstances when an extended absence is anticipated, you may co-assign an Artifact query to a colleague who may be better able to answer the query.

Where can I find my answered query?
Answered queries become part of the patient’s chart.

Do I need to document my query response in the chart?
No. Artifact integrates with the EMR so that your query response in Artifact automatically generates a query note in the patient’s chart.

Why am I queried when the answer seems obvious?
Queries are written with precise language that asks a question without “leading” or implying a particular answer. Coding guidelines require diagnoses to be documented in a specific manner; the diagnosis cannot be inferred. Often the documented diagnosis may lack specificity or use acronyms or abbreviations that cannot be coded.
